Not Sleeping Enough Can Make You Gain Weight
… or make your weight loss a lot more difficult. There are many studies that show that people who don’t sleep enough are craving starcy carbohydrates a lot more than people who get enough sleep. This might have something to do with the secretion of a hormone called leptin which regulates the amount of body fat we have.
With long diets I have seen that you can’t get sleep so easily and the weight loss will stall and you start to desire those donuts.. That is why you should do everything in your power to sleep enough if you want to lose weight and maintain fitness.
Also sleeping is a common way to recover from exercise. If you are working out a lot you should get at least nine hours of sleep EVERY night to be able to repair all the damage that is taking place in your muscle tissue because of the workouts. If you don’t recover you won’t be able to work out so hard and you won’t be able to lose that fat. Try to get one extra hour of sleep every night by intentionally going to bed eariler. If that is not enough then add another hour and another. Eventually your life quality will improve and you will lose more fat.
